5 Days Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi Tour

On this trip, you will go for a Mountain Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Gorilla Trekking is currently the star tourism activity of Uganda. It should be noted that these species of Gorillas are recognized among the most endangered animals on the planet and a few years back were on a verge of extinction. These are only found in Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo.

After trtacking the Gorillas, you will visit Lake Bunyonyi, a lava dammed lake well known for its spectacular beauty formed by the 38 small islands protruding from the waters. Each of these 38 islands was named according to the bird species that reside on the island. Lake Bunyonyi is currently the deepest Lake in Uganda.

Day 1: Pickup and transfer to Bwindi Forest

• Meet up with your guide and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park in South Western Uganda with brief stop overs at the Equator for water experiments to verify the two hemispheres.
• Have lunch in Mbarara town and arrive at the Park in the evening.
• Dinner and overnight at any decided upon depending on your Gorilla tracking the sector.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience

• You will be briefed first of Mountain Gorilla trekking from the park headquarters.
• Start on your trek into the thick impenetrable forest to start your search for the endangered rare species of Mountain Gorillas.
• You will be allowed to interact with the Gorillas for only an hour after finding them, take some photos.
• Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kabale and Lake Bunyonyi

• After breakfast, you will transfer to Kabale a district commonly known as the Switzerland of Africa because of its scenic beauty and weather.
• Later on transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia cottages for up Market/Bushara Island camp for mid-range or Bunyonyi overland camp for budget.

Day 4: Full day at Lake Bunyonyi

• After breakfast, you will go for a full day boat tour on the lake to different small islands.
• Later in the day you will visit the Pygmy villages for entertainment.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala

• After breakfast, you will travel back to Kampala for a drop off will at your Hotel or at the Airport for your flight departure.
