This 15 days adventured packed safari takes you to the most visited places by tourists in Uganda. On this trip, you will engage in a series of activities such as Game drives in Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth National parks, Launch cruise on the world’s longest river and Kazinga channel, visit to the top of the world’s greatest falls, Murchison, bird watching and a visit to the hot springs in Semuliki national park among others.

The trip also assures you moments to stay an hour with the mountain gorillas in Bwindi forest, one of the oldest forests of Africa well known by its challenging rugged and impenetrable nature. You will also see other primates, both diurnal and nocturnal in Kibale Forest including Chimpanzees, Pottos, various types of monkeys, mangabays e.t.c

TRIP ITINERARY

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After meeting up with the driver guide, you will start on a journey to transfer you to the Murchison Falls National Park. You can have various stopovers with one at Zziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking before arriving in the park.

Optionally upon arrival, go and visit the top of the falls, one of the most interesting areas within the Murchison Falls National park. Experience the beauty of the Nile waters squeezing into a 7 meter gorge deep down over 45 meters with thunderous roars.

Later in the evening, you will be transfer to your assigned place of accommodation for dinner and overnight;

Day 2: Game drive and launch cruise

In the morning, cross by ferry to the Northern side of the park for the game drive. During a game drive, you will be rewarded with the beautiful and variety of wildlife in the park such as Elephants, Lions, leopards, buffaloes, Antelopes like bush bucks and water bucks, Kobs, warthogs and so on.

After having your packed lunch, you will then after embark for an afternoon launch cruise along the Albert Nile to look out for water loving animals such as crocodiles along the river banks, elephants taking water, hippos and many bird species.

In case you didn’t go to the top of the falls, after the boat embark on an adventure of hiking to the top of the magnificent falls before later returning to the lodging facility for dinner and overnight;

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale forest National Park

After breakfast, set out for a transfer to Kibale Forest, the park renowned for inhabiting 13 species of primates including the playful but intelligent chimpanzees.

Arrive in the afternoon or evening at your assigned place of accommodation for dinner and overnight;

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale and Bigodi swamp walk

After Breakfast, you will set out for the short chimpanzee briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority officials, guiding you on how to walk and behave while in the forest before you start the morning half day search for the chimpanzees.

Look out in the trees for chimpanzees, you will be rewarded with sightings of other primates such as white colobus monkeys, grey-checked mangabey, red colobus, black-and-white colobus, Baboons as well as different  bird species such as the great blue turacco, Africa pied king fisher , malkites and so on.

In the evening after having your lunch at the Lodge, you will go for the Bigodi swamp walk to search for the water loving bird species in this bird watchers paradise.

Day 5: Transfer to Semuliki National Park

Early in the morning, you will depart for Semliki National park that is famous for its habitats in the distinctive vegetation zones of the Riparian forests, rain forests and short/ high grass savannah. These contribute to the park’s rich wildlife of a variety of animal species, birds, trees, butterflies, reptiles among others.

From Semuliki National park, you can also embark on a night game drive to spot different nocturnal animals like the white tailed mongoose and slender mongoose, winged nightjars, cats, hyenas, leopards and so on.

There is also an opportunity to visit the male and female hot springs at Sempaya within the park.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

After a fully served breakfast, you will leave Semliki National Park and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park.

En route, the journey will provide with different scenic views of the great mountains of the moon and reaching the park by or close to afternoon with a game drive, sighting different animals including Elephants, Leopards, Lions and Kobs.

After having your lunch, you will be by a small tour around the area (mweya) where the park headquarters are situated.

Day 7: Game drive and Launch cruise

After breakfast in the morning, you will go for the game drive in Kasenyi area with in the Park. The game drive will reward with beautiful and a variety of wildlife in the park such as Elephants, Lions, leopards, buffaloes, Antelopes like bush bucks and water bucks, Kobs, warthogs and so on.

You will later return to your lodge for lunch as you wait for the afternoon launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel to be rewarded with views of the most famous water loving animals such as hippos, crocodile along the river banks, elephants taking water and many bird species.

Day 8: Additional Game Drive & Transfer to Bwindi Forest

Set out for the early morning game drive with in the Queen Elizabeth National Park to search for the early risers and animals you missed out in the previous game drives.

Alternatively, you can go for chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge. Later on after having lunch, transfer to Bwindi Park via the Ishasha sector commonly known for its rare tree climbing lions. You will reach Buhoma in the evening where you will rest a bit, have dinner and an overnight at.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking experience

After breakfast and briefing from the Uganda wildlife Authority ranger guides at the Park Head Quarters, start on the adventure into the thick impenetrable forest to start your search for the endangered rare species of Mountain Gorillas.

The gorilla search always continues from the place where they were last seen the previous day. Upon reaching the area where these famous species are, you will only be allowed to interact with them for only one hour and you should always keep maximum silence while with these Gorillas. You are allowed to take photographs and so one.

However, finding the Gorillas is such a tiresome experience since it can take between 3-8 hours to find them.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will leave the Bwindi and transfer Lake Bunyonyi with a lunch break in Kabale, a district commonly known as the Switzerland of Africa because of its beautiful scenic areas and weather. In the afternoon, re-embark on your transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at;

Day 11: Boat Tour at Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will go for the full day boat tour on the lake to different small islands. The lake has almost 38 small islands and each was named according to the bird species that reside on the island.

You will have lunch on one of the Islands and later visit the Pygmy villages for entertainment before returning at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Leave the cold Kabale district early in the morning right after breakfast for a transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

You will have lunch in Mbarara town and later enter into the park with a game drive to look out for Zebras, Impalas, bush and water bucks and Kobs among others.

Day 13: Game drive and boat ride on Lake Mburo

Early in the morning after breakfast, set out for the game drive and search for early risers with in the park. Look out for animals such as Zebras, Elephants, impalas, bushbucks and bush duikers, waterbucks, warthogs, and the topis.

Return to the lodge for relaxation, and later go for the afternoon boat ride to search for water loving animals such as crocodiles and Hippos on Lake Mburo before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

If you are a bird lover, Lake Mburo is also rich with a variety of bird species such as the rare shoe bill stork.

Day 14: Nature Walk & Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast, you will set out for a morning nature walk in Rubanga forest after which you will transfer back to Kampala.

En route you will have a brief stopover at the Equator in Masaka for water experiments proving the Southern and Northern Hemispheres that are distinguished by this major latitude dissect.

Continue with the journey and have another stopover at Mpambire drum village basically known as drum making village to see how the local music instruments are made.

You will reach Kampala in the afternoon for relaxation for Dinner and overnight at the following or either accommodation of your choice;

Day 15: Kampala city tour and departure

After breakfast at your Hotel, you will go for a short Kampala city tour and visit places like the Bahai Temple (The only one of its Kind in Africa), the Kasubi Tombs where some of the Buganda Kings were buried, and the manmade Kabaka’s Lake, Namugongo Martyrs Shrines, Uganda Museum, Historical monuments among others.

You will then be transferred to Entebbe Airport for your flight back home depending on your time of departure.
