Trip Summary
This trip takes you to the nearest safari park to Kampala and the second smallest in Uganda. Lying in the one part of Uganda covered in extensive acacia woodland, Mburo has markedly different fauna to other parks and reserves.
Are you limited with time but can’t miss leaving the ‘Pearl of Africa’ without exploring the fascinating wildlife beauty she is gifted with. Lake Mburo is the best place to visit. Out of tie but want to see the gigantic eland antelope, zebra, waterbuck, Klipspringer and the rare topi, impala, and several acacia associate birds, this is a right Itinerary for you.
The lake within the park, Mburo attract hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds, while fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists such as the sitatunga antelope and red, black and yellow papyrus gonalek.
Being the closest national park to Kampala, Lake Mburo National Park also offers a refreshing stopover when traveling to or from the western parks and reserves.
ITINERARY:
Day 01: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Our guide/ driver will meet you in the morning to start a four hours drive to Lake Mburo to arrive in time for Lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a boat and trip to a fishing village followed by an evening game drive.
- You will have your dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp.
Day 02: Game drive
After breakfast, you will go for short safari walk followed by game drives through the Park and along the shores of Lake Mburo itself.
You will then have Lunch at the Mantana Tented Camp, before the drive to bring you back to Kampala.
