TRIP SUMMARY:
This trip takes you to Ngamba Island in Lake Victoria to track the habituated orphaned chimpanzee.
Ngamba Island is one of the 84 Islands of Ssese under the Koome group, best known as the home for the orphaned Chimpanzees, the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Currently, the island is home to up to 49 orphaned chimpanzees rescued across East Africa.
The Island that sits on almost 100 acres of land is also a home to other wildlife species including fruit bats, spiders, fish eagles, otters, and monitor lizards among others.
The sanctuary management offers both day and overnight visits which provides an exceptional opportunity to closely observe these fascinating great apes and closest cousins to humans.
TRIP ITENERARY:
Day 1: Transfer to Ngamba Island
After breakfast, you will depart for Entebbe (Uganda Wildlife Education Centre) for the boat transfer to Ngamba Islands Chimpanzee Sanctuary. It takes about 1 and half hours to reach the sanctuary. Upon reaching the Island you will have lunch and after you will spend some time with the Chimpanzees. Return for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Forest Walk in Ngamba Island
In the morning, you will go for a forest walk on the Island and search for different bird species with in the forest. You will experience great time with the Playful Chimpanzees while adventuring the forest. Relax at the camp and in the evening you will take a boat ride around the Island.

Day 3: Transfer back to Entebbe
Early morning after breakfast, you will take another nature walk. Later return for early lunch and after you will take the boat back to the Pier at Entebbe.
The guide will then pick you up and transfer you to your Hotel in Kampala /Entebbe or to the Airport to catch the flight back home.
