6 Days Rwanda and Congo Safari

Day 1: Kigali Airport- Transfer to Volcanoes

On your arrival you will be welcomed by our safari guide, and after transfer up to Kigali city for the Kigali city tour visiting the Kigali genocide memorial, the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Museum and other places of interest. Have lunch in Kigali.

After transfer to Volcanoes National Park in North western part of Rwanda which is popularly known for the mountain gorillas. Check in for Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for Luxury, Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge for Deluxe or Muhabura Hotel or Davince lodge for Budget.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Early in the morning after your breakfast at the lodge transfer with our guide up to the Park offices or starting point for briefing, clearing for approval and group allocation, the briefing is conducted to highlight trekkers on how to behave while in the Jungle and in presence of Mountain Gorillas.

After briefing and group allocation the journey is started heading to the Jungle in search of these apes, after locating these apes you are allowed to be in their presence for only one hour while seeing them playing, feeding, laughing plus taking photos and videos of them. It’s advised that you come with packed lunch from your hotel of residence.

After the Gorilla trek return to the lodge for relaxation as you get prepared for the afternoon visit to the beautiful twin Lakes: Burera & Ruhondo.

Dinner and overnight at Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge for Mid-range, Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for Luxury, or Muhabura Hotel or Davince lodge for Budget.

Day 3: Cross to DR Congo via Goma border.

After your early breakfast, transfer up to Goma border, clear at the customs by presenting required documents including passport, visa plus yellow fever vaccination card and cross to DR Congo. You will have your lunch in Goma, one of the most popular towns in Congo. Have a short tour of Goma city and after check in at the lodge, Dinner and overnight at Ihusi Hotel.

Day 4: Exciting Mountain Nyiragongo Hiking

Early in the morning after breakfast transfer straight to the starting point for the short briefing which is first conducted before the Journey is started to highlight the trekkers about this amazing journey to the top.

After briefing the Journey is started in a group with ranger guides, starting early in the morning you will be at the top in the evening for overnight stay using the reserved shelters at the top. A night is spent to sight the night view of burning lava which is usually red in colour.

Day 5: Descend back for Relaxation in Goma.

After the exciting overnight spent at the top, next day is for descending back to the starting point for a visit to the Goma town, after transfer and check in at the lodge for lunch, dinner and overnight stay. Dinner and overnight stay at Ihusi Hotel.

Day 6: Cross borders to Rwanda – Transfer to Kigali.

Early in the morning after breakfast check out at the lodge and transfer up to Goma border for crossing back to Rwanda, after crossing the borders our driver will be waiting you for transfer back to Kigali city for optional Kigali city tour, have lunch in Kigali, visit bank for money withdraw and after transfer to Kigali airport for your return flight back home or check in at the lodge in Kigali for overnight stay. End of amazing Safari.
